I am trying to plot CAPPI and MAX Z using wradlib. The following is the error unable to decode time units 'seconds since yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ' with "calendar 'gregorian'". Try opening your dataset with decode_times=False or installing cftime if it is not installed. After decode_times=False the the reading is happening through wradlib. The Coordinates for variables are time and range .  I am attaching a sample of the file that i want to plot A notebook for ploting CAPPI and MAX is much apreciated.

Hello Vinay Singla,

Opening data set is okay for me.But the main issue about creating a CAPPI plot or MAX. An example notebook will be appreciable using the above given data Because I am new to the wradlib and python

Hey

There is a fairly detailed example to plot MAX product (also you need the 3d CAPPI grid) here: https://docs.wradlib.org/en/stable/notebooks/workflow/recipe2.html
Although it is for ODIM_H5 filetype, so you have to adjust the notebook a bit for your data.

Best regards

If I tell you the truth , given script doesn't work completely for indian radar file you need to use hit and trial method.

For IMD radar data, you can check PyScanCf library!
You can even plot CAPPI as well.
Best,
Hamid

Hi,

thanks for all the comments and help already provided.

I just want to mention that we will move to

https://openradar.discourse.group

for discussion on weather radar.

To your question, there are several issues with your data.

1. time unit attribute is broken
2. time_coverage_start is non-standard
3. time_coverage_end is empty
4. sweep_start_ray_index/sweep stop_ray_index with erroneous values

This can be fixed using wradlib. I'll gladly answer this if you open a
discussion on the above discourse. It's more easy to link to resources,
format code and keep track over there.

Thanks!

Best
Kai
