Westward 3 gold rush trainer

I seem to have a problem getting the trainer to work. I downloaded
unpacked
started game
started trainer
pressed numpad 1 + 2
didnt work all the trainer says is waiting for game to start
tryed 3 combinations and I cant seem to get it to work
can anyone help asto where I am going wrong or if you have the same
problem
