how to answer questions,...

To keep everyone on the same wavelength, assume that you are running for
your local school baord. You have gone home from WPI, and see that there
need to be some changes.

Have an opening one-minute speech introducing yourself.

An appropriate first sentence is

"I'm John Smith, candidate for school board."

A weaker first sentence is

"My name is John Smith."

What is the difference?
