I'm hiring a full time position on my team for a web developer.  We do a lot of WordPress sites.  And we have a couple big projects coming up.

The job description is not as fun as the job is - I need to work with HR to update that - http://cuanswers.iapplicants.com/ViewJob-399591.html

Plus, if you take the job, you can say you work with a published WP Author. Think about it :)

Grace and Peace,
Brian Richards

Seriously no one in WPGR is looking for Full Time Work on my great team?

Here is a better job description:

CU*Answers Web Services (ws.cuanswers.com) is looking for a web developer to join our team.  A well-qualified candidate is a full stack web developer, comfortable with talking to the client (“I have people skills!”),understanding their design specification, jumping into PhotoShop to knock it out, then rolling to your HTML editor of choice to craft your HTML5 and CSS3 masterpiece.  We are a WordPress shop, so theming, plugin development and administration skills are a plus.

CU*Answers Web Services is a tight-knit marketing and web development team adhering to modern web practices and standards.  Each team members is self-sufficient but available for mentoring and to be mentored – no egos need apply. On any given day you could beupdating any number of over 200 websites, developing themes or functionality for new clients or continuing to work on larger WP and non-WP web projects.

This is a full time position including benefits, 401k and bonus potential in a fast paced, ever changing work environment.

        Duties

1.      If you don’t know what a web developer does every day, you probably aren’t right for this position

2.      This is not a heads down, headphones on coding position (though there are times when it is)

3.      Expect lots of team interaction and collaboration

Qualifications:

1.      HTML, CSS and JavaScript (jQuery) skills (client side coding)

2.      PHP and MySQL skills (server side coding)

3.      Adobe Creative Suite experience (design)

4.      WordPress experience in theming and plugin development

5.      WordPress knowledge of management, security, scaling and deployment

6.      Interest in new and emerging web technologies and knowing when to adopt them

7.      Practical creativity

8.      Willingness to learn and to teach

9.      Ability to perform complete project development including project analysis, design, development, delegation of duties as needed, installation, ongoing maintenance, and any necessary documentation.

10.  Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.

11.  Ability to use discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential data

It's probably a bit more difficult to find someone who can engage with a client well enough to get all the necessary details for effectively designing the site themselves, and then also coding it.

It sounds like you're asking for an individual who is a team unto himself (maybe that's what "each team member is self-sufficient" means). Most people I know personally with that skill set (or even less than) are happily (and busily!) freelancing.

It sounds like working remotely isn't an option either.

Yeah, it's a really great time to be a web developer. Not as great of a time for a company seeking a developer/designer/customer service individual within the company's geographic area.

This may be an unhelpful reply.

My guess is that a lot of the people on this list are independents. you might try the GR-WebDev list?

You are absolutely right Jarrod.  I am looking for the full package.  Everyone on the team now can do every aspect with varying degrees of success.  I think everyone on the team has been a freelancer before and still moonlights some.

I used to be freelance myself. I hated it.  I was always felt like I was chasing down the next job instead of doing the part of the work I enjoyed.  Now I work for the man, I have a steady income and an ever growing queue of projects because I have the rest of our company's machinery feeding the beast.  It fits my lifestyle better.

Working remotely might be an option.  I'm not ruling it out, but really what makes my team awesome is how we work together and learn from each other.  Like I said, not everyone is amazing at everything on the list, but everyone is amazing at some of them.

I appreciate your feedback, don't hold back.  This job isn't for everyone, but it has to be for someone.

/David

Thanks Matt, I just emailed & posted there also.  I started with WPGR since we are a WordPress shop and WP skills would be a def plus, but not required.
