Happened to be doing some browsing reading news stories and got to
this one:

Terror threat intelligence is most specific ever
U.S. ferreting out plot in significant detail, officials tell NBC News

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/3775771/

Amid all the typical yankee propaganda in the article was the gem of
American psycho-babble that Bin Laden and boys had a target in mind...

"The officials said al-Qaida seems particularly interested in Tappahannock,
Va.,
a town of 2,016 people with no military base or major infrastructure. Such
an
attack would be intended to generate widespread fear that no one was safe,
even in small rural towns, they said."

I've never even heard a mention of the name, much less any story that
involved the place, so I did an internet search and low and behold found
2562 references to it. Must be a hell of a place considering that when I
did a search on Winnipeg, Manitoba I got 58 hits. But then again when
I did an internet search on Armpit, Saskatchewan, I got 371 hits...go
figure.

Now don't get me wrong, I'm quite happy that, if true, Bin and the boys
want to wipe out a part of rural America with more internet hits than
population, rather than Winnipeg.

But when placed in the context of everything that's gone on with the the
government of the United States of Amnesia lately, it's starting to sound
more and more like some bizarre Nick Hill commercial with Bush saying
that his number one vice president left the al-Qaida making machine on
overnight and is now trying to sell some story to the public.

It should be interesting to see if the American propaganda machine will
get cranked up to the level of The Third Richt and they adopt the forearm
salute before they proclaim our fair city as a target of 'the enemy of the
fatherland', or nuke us because they blame Canada for 'mad cow' disease.

I'm not taking any chances I'm deleting all my web pages about Winnipeg,
and shipping all my beef products to either Armpit, Saskatchewan, or
Asshole, Alberta...I'm not really in a mood to have to deal with either
terrorist organization right now, and I'm just going to enjoy my Christmas,
before someone claims that I should block off my chimney to keep a certain
fat man in a red suit, a known terrorist, out of my house.

<sigh>

How did you search? google finds nearly 800,000 hits for
"Winnipeg, Manitoba" (quotes and all), and over 3 million hits
for Winnipeg .

LOL - using the "Search the Web Window" window on the MS Browser...

Okay so I cheated a little and exploited a bit of MS silliness on
searches weighted by requests...

I just checked again and got 1040 for Winnipeg, Manitoba - 381 for
Ampit, Saskatchewan, and 5940 for Tappahannock, Va.

Gee the place is getting more important all the time, but I'm still not
taking
any chances... gonna stick to a strict Kielbasa diet until beef is okay
again...

BTW, best of the season Walter, hope Martin's minions don't start whacking
away at the NRC IT budget like they are every where else...;->
