I was chuckling when I read these WFP articles this week.

It seems everyone is condemning Switzerland for throttling the spread of
Muslim architecture in their country. However the level of criticism coming
from the Danes and the Swedes appears to be going against the grain of the
rest of the world.

The Swiss are being accused of xenophobia, but their government argues that
proliferation of minarets would conflict with and diminish Swiss
architecture. The Swedes are saying such a referendum would never pass in
their country, but rather city planning would decide if construction of
minarets would be allowed. And now populist parties in Denmark and the
Netherlands say they want referendums also.

In my opinion, all these arguments are very cleverly woven to be politically
correct, and to maintain peace and security. It has taken centuries for
these countries to separate church and state. As the spread of Muslim
religion in Europe continues, what kind of assurance do their societies have
that their governments will not eventually devolve back to the rule of
Mullahs once Muslim interests have achieved a majority vote? Canadians can
well afford to be smug. We are blessed with a highly diverse population from
around the world, and we are far removed from the threat of any one group or
interest seizing power. All we have to fret about is The Parti Quebecois
winning a referendum and separating from the rest of Canada.

Western style democratic government is not anywhere near perfect, but it
does allow a degree of freedom for all faiths and lifestyles. Do any
present day Muslim states afford anywhere near the same rights for all of
their citizens?

Yesterday the Big Boss Of Talk has some tight-putched biatch going on
about how the new Burka Barbi is akin to promoting suicide bombings and
other terrorism.

Ya know what? When I see the cross, I'm reminded of Christianity
destroying cultures, murder, sexual abuse, theft, genocide. So please
stop wearing crosses, because it gives me the wrong idea that it's OK to
do all that in the name of the god being represented there.

It bordered on hate speech , what this lady was talking about.
