Congrats, Pete! The whole book is a great idea, IMO. Looking forward to reading it :)

Cheers guys. The whole group had gone quiet for a couple of days, so I thought I'd post something banal, but really ego boosting.;->

You're right, the group's gone quiet.  While not working on stuff for work, I have recently been tending to my obsessions, one of which is finding what I call "word sets."  It's a combination of words that reads the same both horizontally and vertically.  For example:

TEA
EAR
ARE

I've written a program that analyzes a dictionary from The Gutenberg Project that finds all possible word sets that begin with some word that you type into the console.  I've optimized the hell out of the app.  For example, when searching for word sets that start with the name "Karim", my app finds all 30,922 of them in 00:00:00.4932218.

I'm planning on writing an article or blog post about the app over the holiday, but if anyone wants to check out the src beforehand, let me know and I'll send it to you.

You're on a dangerous path, Josh. I assume if Van Gogh had owned a computer, he would have done word sets right before cutting off his ear.

And no, there was NO pattern in this sentence
