Please join me in welcoming Robby Ingebretsen as the newest disciple.

For most of us, he needs no introduction.  For the rest... here are some things to know about Robby:

  • He is the original style/template guru (he was the PM at Microsoft who owned styles and templates during WPF's formative years).
  • I'm pretty sure he was the first to coin the term "Integrator" (which is much better than devigner, imho).
  • He created the simple styles which are available in Blend.
  • He was the first to introduce a lightweight xaml editor with intellisense, a.k.a., kaxaml (so he is indirectly responsible for this intellisense support in Blend).
  • His thoughts on design, user experience, WPF, and Silverlight can all be found at nerdplusart.com (formerly notstatic.com).
  • He can be seen quite regularly on the speaking tour and on various Channel 9 interviews.

Welcome to the group, Robby.  Please don't judge us based on the tenor of recent threads.  ;-)

Welcome Robby!!!

So when do we start talking about Designer-Developer workflow? I feel
we're continuing this discussion every time we meet :)

Can't wait to work with you, man...

Hmm... he announces he's leaving IdentityMine, then becomes a Disciple.  I'm very curious what you're going to be up to now, Robby :).  Welcome aboard.

Waiiiiiiiiiiit I join and you leave? How am I supposed to take that? :)

And more importantly, how could I miss that! Can't wait to finish that
book, it's REALLY taking me too much time...

Good luck on your own Robby.

Welcome Robby,

I’m always very impressed by the work you put out and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed your talks here in the UK as well.

Great to have you on board and I look forward to your input and perspective.

Cheers

Hey Everyone.  Thanks for all of the warm welcomes.  I'm really excited to be a WPF Disciple.  I've been a jealous outsider for a while now!

Rob,

Welcome to our group of hopeless WPF fanatics.  If we were all in the room, chairs arranged in a circle, you would be saying, “Hi my name is Robby, I’m a WPF fanatic.”  Then before you knew what was happening, our hearts would start racing, eyes would get wide, the group would get that look… and we would all dog pile on you, shouting, making funny faces and some drooling bits of XAML.

Wooo  Hooooo,  Welcome!

Speaking of 12 steps, we should definitely hit a bar in LA. Welcome aboard Robby. I've been a fan for years.
