When someone leads with a quote from Ecclesiastes 3.1, you know some sort of change is about to be announced.
Friday, 28 Oct 2011 will be my last day in Redmond, and unfortunately Microsoft and the patterns & practices team. My decision to leave Redmond was driven solely by the poor real estate market in this area.
I’ve written a short blog post about my move to Boise, ID: http://karlshifflett.wordpress.com/2011/10/21/to-every-thing-there-is-a-season/
I will miss Microsoft and Microsoft people very much.
Hello WPF, Prism, and enterprise development!

Hey Karl,
Just finished reading your post, it reminds me recent John Papa’s choice, I think you did it right.
Best wishes for your new job but, most of all, for your new big dream.
Disciples are always here, no matter where you move.
Cheers,
Corrado

Looking at where you are going, does that mean you get to be a 'real'
architect? you know, bricks, concrete, steel and all that?
(I am sure I am not the only one here who has had the "Oh, so you're
an architect ... I am thinking about building my own house ..."
conversation)
