Dear CCCC Member,
I hope this message finds you enjoying a new school year that is productive without being frantic.
This email updates you on the next step in our ongoing effort to increase access to our Annual Convention conversations for those who cannot join us in Cleveland. In addition to continuing last year’s option for accepted presenters to prerecord their presentations to be shared by a co-panelist or other attendee, in 2026, CCCC will offer a streaming option for virtual attendees.
This option will provide a livestream of selected onsite CCCC sessions—including the Opening Session and Chair’s Address, All-Attendee Keynote, and Annual Business Meeting and Awards Presentation, among others. Virtual attendees will be able to ask questions and to post reactions. Recordings will also be made available to all registrants in the days following the event.
This initiative is the result of recommendations from the Task Force to Develop a Plan for Actionable Accessibility at the Convention. Thanks go to Janine Butler, Maggie Fernandes, Ada Hubrig, Gavin Johnson, Bernice Olivas, Bethany Sweeney, Zhaozhe Wang, and CCCC Chair and Task Force Chair Jennifer Sano-Franchini. Their thoughtful and timely work shaped this plan. I am also grateful to the Executive Committee, which voted in August to adopt the task force recommendations.
Our work to expand access at our gatherings is ongoing. Future deliberations and engagement will be guided in part by members’ response to this new option.
I look forward to joining you—onsite or online—for CCCC 2026. Registration and housing for CCCC 2026 will open by the end of October.
Warmly,
Melissa Ianetta
Program Chair, CCCC 2026
