Dear colleagues and friends —

I am conducting a survey of rhetoric and composition program administrators to learn more about their experiences with workloads, working conditions, and work-related experiences and feelings (IRB 6104). I would love responses from doctoral students, non-tenure-track faculty, tenure-line faculty, and staff in rhetoric and composition program administration positions.

In this research, rhetoric and composition program administration is broadly defined and can include but is not limited to writing center administration, composition program administration, language/linguistics program administration, writing in the disciplines administration, community literacy center administration, and writing across communities administration.

The survey is a 10-15 minute anonymous Qualtrics survey. Your participation in this research is voluntary, and if you decide to participate in the study, you may withdraw your consent and stop participation at any time without penalty. The deadline to complete the survey is March 27th, 2026. If you do not feel you can answer the questions or do not have time, please share it with another program administrator colleague or friend. I am looking to gather as many responses as possible, so please share widely.

Thank you for helping me explore rhetoric and composition program administration, workloads, and work experiences. I believe significant understandings of our working conditions and experiences can come from this research, and I look forward to sharing those findings with the field in the future.
