Job: Assistant Professor of Writing and First Year Studies at Stockton University

Dear colleagues,

I'm writing from the First Year Studies program at Stockton University, a public regional university near Atlantic City in New Jersey. We’re hiring a tenure-track assistant professor in writing to start September 1, 2026.

 
The job is a 3/3, with 2 or 3 of those sections each year in College Writing, our developmental first-year writing course, and room to teach in a variety of other programs or develop new courses. We’re looking for someone with a strong interest in and commitment to first-year writing and developing rigorous writing instruction for students who need additional support as they begin college. We have a strong faculty union and support for research, including the opportunity to apply for additional funding and course releases.
