Dear colleagues,

We hope your summer is off to a great start! This is a friendly reminder that chapter proposals for Elections, Technical Communication, and the Global Politics of Participatory Democracy are due August 1, 2026Link to full CFP.

Co-edited by Dr. Isidore Dorpenyo and me, this collection examines the intersections of elections, democracy, technology, and technical communication in a global context. We are particularly interested in work that addresses topics such as election technologies, campaign communication, disinformation, AI in electoral contexts, civic participation, and social justice approaches to electoral systems and governance.

Proposal submissions should include:

  • A 500–750 word proposal (excluding references)
  • A working title
  • A brief author bio (100–150 words for each contributor)
  • Contact information for all authors

Please submit proposals as a single document to ryan...@mst.edu and dorp...@umn.edu.

The project has moved beyond the initial proposal stage with WAC Clearinghouse, and we are excited to review chapter proposals that will help shape this timely collection.

Thank you to those already planning submissions. We would also appreciate your help in sharing this CFP with colleagues, graduate students, and relevant networks who may be interested.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Take care,

Ryan & Isidore
