I am thrilled to be hiring two tenure track faculty for fall at Central Maine Community College, in the midst of what I hope will be a great deal of curriculum change and development. These would be great jobs for someone with high interest both in teaching and in having a hand in curriculum and program development.

We are on a tight time frame hiring for fall and I would hate for someone who'd be a great fit to not apply because they weren't job hunting in the middle of summer. So please forward these to any list I didn't hit or any person you think might be interested. (I'm a composition/women's studies person, not communications or new media, so any help there would be especially welcome.)

Here's the first:
Date: June 15, 2021 . Title of Position: Writing Instructor . Bargaining Unit / Salary Range: Salary and Benefits commensurate with the Agreement

Crucial points:
Note: to clarify one piece of the ad, the intention is:

"This position shall coordinate and collaborate with instructors within the department to ensure delivery of :
    • remedial writing instruction,
    • reading instruction,
    • instruction for English language learners.

Here's the second:
Date: June 3, 2021 . Title of Position: Communications Instructor . Bargaining Unit / Salary Range: Salary and Benefits commensurate with the Agreement
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching 15 credit hours of communications courses per semester, course development and student advising.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master’s Degree in Communications or closely related field
• Curriculum Development
• Student Advising

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3+ years of experience teaching communications courses at the college level
• Expertise with media studies and/or emerging technologies
• Experience with program development

If anyone is interested, we are also hiring a director of online learning. I'm not part of that process, but here's the link:
POSITION VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT . DATE: May 20, 2021 . POSITION TITLE: Director of Online Learning . BARGAINING UNIT/ SALARY RANGE: Salary and Benefits commensurate with the Agreement between the MCCS Trustees and the MEA Administrators Unit, Level IV.
