News: WAC Clearinghouse Statement of Support for CCCC

Dear Colleagues,

I'm writing to share the following statement from the WAC Clearinghouse in support of CCCC:

The WAC Clearinghouse stands in solidarity with the leadership team and members of the Conference on College Composition and Communication. We find the decision by the National Council of Teachers of English to de-charter the largest professional organization in writing studies poorly considered and deeply troubling. As we look ahead, we support the re-envisioning of the organization—under its current name or a new name—as a professional home for all members of the writing studies community. The Clearinghouse is prepared to offer our support by serving as a publisher for the organization’s journals and book series, sponsoring its conference, and supporting the continued development of its research-based and consensus-driven statements on best practices within the field. We look forward to the establishment of a vibrant organization that exists outside the purview of NCTE. We are enthusiastic about working with the scholars who are engaged in envisioning and building it.
