News: CCCC WAC SG

Dear CCCC WAC SG members,

By now, you might have heard about NCTE de-chartering CCCC (if you haven't, this article might be helpful).

Each morning this week, I have started to write this email and have felt overwhelmed with feelings about it all. After seeing this writing center news yesterday, I just about threw my laptop out the window as I thought about colleagues who came to WAC through WCs.  

Couldn't we get one moment of positivity?! 

Luckily, we could find many because we have wonderful, thoughtful colleagues in this field, so let me share a few places you can go below:

• Traci Gardner has started a Google Group/listserv where folks are sharing updates and resources. 
• Relatedly, Traci's crowdsourced FAQ list has comprehensive and growing information. 
• For those of you looking to get involved, Liz Wardle has prompted us to convene regional sense-making sessions. You'll see that some have come together quite fast while others are finding their footings.
• For those of you looking for a larger home institution, I can't say enough good things about the Association for Writing Across the Curriculum (AWAC) and its intentional approach to the many topics we face these days. 
• Lastly, if you find yourself looking for a conference to attend in 2027, might I suggest IWAC, which will be held at the University of Maine July 7-10, 2027 (did you know that Maine's nickname is Vacationland...? Vacationland!). 

I hope you will find something that works for you and feel invigorated by this community as new information continues to come out. 

Although I don't think I'm in any sort of official elected role anymore, please do reach out if you have thoughts or questions.
