Hi All,

I’m happy to announce we’ve gotten permission to hire four continuing faculty positions based in our first-year writing program and writing center aimed at supporting our new corequisite initiative, which pairs a dedicated first-year writing class with reading and writing support labs run out of our writing and speaking center (2 of the hires will be teaching the writing courses and the other 2 will be running the writing center labs). Students served by these credit-bearing courses would have traditionally been placed in non-credit basic writing courses. Here are the positions:

Note that the deadline is March 18, with an extra week for the Reading Lab Coordinator position. Please let me know if you have any questions about the positions, working at UNR, and living in Reno. We are an emerging HSI with a 25% Latinx student population. We get about 300 days of sunshine a year and are 45 minutes from Lake Tahoe and right next door to California.
