Coalition Friends,
It is with much sadness that we share news that Lisa Ede passed away yesterday. Please see the message below from Cheryl Glenn and Andrea Lunsford. The Coalition is proud to honor Lisa with our biennial "Lisa Ede Mentoring Award," and we will be planning additional celebration of her many contributions to our organization and to the advancement of feminist rhetorical study and practice.

We---Andrea and Cheryl--are devastated to say that our beloved friend and collaborator Lisa Ede died yesterday at age 74. Brilliant, ornery, sometimes stubborn, and always caring, Lisa was a major intellectual force in the field of rhetoric and writing studies. Her publications on theories of audience and collaboration for which she won MLA and CCCC awards are legendary, as was her unstinting mentorship. That commitment to mentorship has been memorialized by the Lisa Ede Mentor Award sponsored by the Coalition of Feminist Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition. She leaves behind her devoted husband of 47 years, Greg Pfarr, of Corvallis, Oregon. We hold her and her memory in our hearts.
