My name is Sayed Ali Reza Ahmadi. I am a new member in this group. I am a Ph.D. candidate in Composition and Applied Linguistics program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. Currently, I am writing my dissertation on “Exploring the Use of Metacognition in Teaching Writing: A Case Study of the First-Year Composition (FYC) Instructors in the US”.
I am writing to invite you to take part in a short survey on teaching the first-year composition in relation to metacognition. The survey will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
The survey is found here: https://iup.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_bkNWPLCZgmUofz0
It is my goal with this line of research to investigate the level of composition instructors’ understanding of metacognition in teaching composition and how often they employ it strategically in their classes. In addition, I intend to explore the ways in which instructors incorporate metacognitive strategies in teaching composition and examine the ways the FYC instructors assess students’ metacognition.
THIS PROJECT HAS BEEN APPROVED BY THE INDIANA UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA INSTITUTIONAL REVIEW BOARD FOR THE PROTECTION OF HUMAN SUBJECTS (PHONE 724-357-7730).
Thank you very much for your time and consideration!
