Survey: Visual & Multimodal Communication in Today’s Technical/Professional Communication Workplaces

Dear Colleagues

I’m conducting a brief, IRB-approved survey on visual and multimodal communication in professional and technical communication workplaces. The study explores how communicators’ roles have evolved with new technologies, changing workplace expectations, and the growing use of AI tools for communication planning, writing, and design.

The survey takes about 10 minutes and is open to anyone working in communication-related roles—writing, editing, UX/UI, content creation, documentation, grant management, and similar fields.

Findings will contribute to ongoing research in technical and professional communication and writing studies more broadly and help inform curriculum development and workplace readiness.
