Dr. Rob Goodman is Assistant Professor of Politics and Public Administration at Ryerson University. He is the author of Words on Fire: Eloquence and Its Conditions (Cambridge University Press, 2022) and the co-author of A Mind at Play (Simon & Schuster, 2017) and Rome’s Last Citizen (Thomas Dunne, 2012). He is also the co-editor of a forthcoming volume on Populism, Demagoguery, and Rhetoric in Historical Perspective (Oxford University Press). His academic work has been published in journals including the American Political Science Review, the Journal of Politics, the Review of Politics, and History of Political Thought. Before beginning his doctoral studies, Rob was a speechwriter in the U.S. House and Senate.
