Dear Colleagues,

As writing professors, we are always seeking to add to our repertoire of excellent writing assignments. We invite you to submit a proposal describing your favorite writing assignment; one that resonated with students and one that will be presented in a roundtable discussion format at 4Cs 2027. Our discussion will focus on the following questions: Which assignment did your students find most meaningful/memorable? Each roundtable presentation should last 5-7 minutes.

If you are interested in participating in this roundtable session, email us a 100-200-word proposal that includes the following:
  • A working title for your assignment
  • A brief assignment description
  • The teaching/course context of the assignment
  • Your name, email, and institutional affiliation
  • Informal/reported feedback from students (as in how you found out that students responded positively to the assignment)

Proposals are due by May 9, 2026, and can be mailed to Patrici...@hofstra.edu

We look forward to receiving your proposals!

Sincerely,
Patricia C. Miller, Hofstra University
Lisa Parzefall, Western Illinois University
Marta Shcherbakova, College of DuPage
