I'm happy to announce that the call for applic
ations for the Margaret (Marty) Baker Graham Research Grant from the Association for Business Communication is available. The application form can be viewed here (guest account needed; full text of the call is below). • Nupoor Ranade, North Carolina State University, “Re-Contextualizing Audiences in User-Generated Content Publication Spaces”
  • Doreen Hanke, Texas A&M International University, "Can Employees Motivate Themselves? The Link Between Peer Motivating Language and Employee Outcomes"
  • Erin Brock Carlson, Purdue University, "Mapping Metis: Tracing the Work of Regional Transformation in Appalachia"
We would encourage all interested graduate students to apply. Please see the full call below. The due date for applications is 5:00 AM EDT on July 29. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer them off-list.

Best,
Stephen Carradini

During her career in higher education, Dr. Marty Graham (Iowa State University) worked diligently to support the advancement of graduate students, particularly female, non-traditional students. Because of her dedication to these students and her understanding of the economic difficulties all graduate students face, her family and friends have endowed the Margaret (Marty) Baker Graham Research Grant. This award will assist doctoral students engaged in research within the discipline of business communication. Distributed through the Business Communication Research Foundation, the $500 award will be presented at the Annual International Conference of the Association for Business Communication.

  • Description of research project indicating progress achieved toward completion (limit to two pages, single--spaced)
