Dear Colleague:
I am writing to ask for your help with research I am conducting on the current job market for PhDs in Rhetoric and Composition. Below is a link to a survey to be completed by current or recent PhD students who have applied for full-time jobs this year (September 2018-July 2019). The purpose of the survey is to investigate, based on job seekers’ experiences, how well current graduate training in Rhetoric and Composition prepares graduate students for the jobs available. The survey also seeks to describe the extent to which jobs seekers’ job preferences align with the jobs available. The survey results are intended to provide a portrait of the current job market for Rhetoric and Composition PhDs that will be useful to graduate students as they prepare to compete for jobs and to graduate programs seeking to be responsive to present job market conditions.
To participate, please forward this link to any current or recent PhD student in Rhetoric and Composition who conducted a job search this year. Or, if you would prefer, please send me the names and email addresses of those students and I will contact them directly. (If you are not the person responsible for advising Rhetoric and Composition students in your program, please forward this request to the appropriate person.)
