Dear colleagues,
My name is Ian John, and I’m a PhD candidate at the University of South Florida seeking participants for surveys and follow up interviews for my dissertation project, “Not Quite Student: Not Quite Instructor: Examining Blurry, Liminal Spaces in the Teaching
of Multimodality (IRB STUDY 009872)
I am studying instructor liminality and identity as mediated through multimodal platforms and hybridity. Through surveys and follow-up interviews, I am hoping to develop theories of how instructors experience liminality within their own instruction, especially
in the face of the multimodal composition classroom grappling with new technologies and modalities.
If you’re interested, more information is in the consent and information form linked [here].
If you’d like to participate or have questions, please email me at ian...@usf.edu.
You can also contact my faculty advisor, Dr. Morgan Gresham at gre...@usf.edu.
Thank you so much! If you do decide to participate, the link to the thirteen question Qualtrics survey is linked below. Upon completion of the survey, you will be directed to a space that asks if you want to participate in a recorded thirty-to-forty-five-minute
interview session.
Sincerely,
Ian John
