College educators are invited to submit a proposal for an exciting new experience connecting those who share a passion for igniting college students’ English and literacy learning.

Taking place at the 2026 NCTE Annual Convention in Philadelphia, “College Conversations: Learning, Community, and Connections” is an opportunity especially for faculty and instructors who teach at the college level to be in community and share pedagogical insights and responsive teaching practices on a broad variety of ideas that guide postsecondary teaching and learning. The College Section of NCTE is seeking proposals for presentations at this inaugural event, which will feature topical workshop groups with short presentations and vibrant follow-up conversations, including shared takeaways from each group.

"Leaders of NCTE's College Section have been working diligently this year to provide fresh, dedicated Annual Convention programming that uniquely supports our members in postsecondary," said Jonathan Bush, chair of NCTE's College Section Steering Committee and a professor in the Department of English at Western Michigan University. "We are thrilled to establish this new tradition for college educators and look forward to announcing more exciting news to our community in the coming weeks."

Proposals are due by 9:00 a.m. ET on Monday, June 29.
