Colleagues:
I'm excited to invite chapter proposals for an edited collection: Contesting Scientific Literacies: New Tools for a New World. This book will interrogate, contest, and reimagine the current ideas that scientific literacy can only be accounted for through normative assessments. This collection reconceptualizes scientific literacies as socially distributed, rhetorically mediated, and collectively enacted across a wide array of educational and public spaces.
We are recruiting broadly from academics in Writing Studies and Applied Linguistics (early career and graduate students especially encouraged) and community and education practitioners.
The deadline for submission is April 30, 2026.
