The Office of Instruction and Assessment at The University of Arizona seeks an educator with experience in faculty development to collaborate in advancing learner-centered, evidence-based, innovative teaching. We seek someone to research, conceptualize, collaborate with, and manage projects that expand writing-to-learn and writing-assessment practices. The successful applicant will demonstrate ability to support writing as a way to learn and communicate ideas in mathematics, engineering, science, and technical curricula. In this career track (non-tenure-eligible) faculty position, the Assistant Professor of Practice will teach in the Graduate Certificate Program in College Teaching; collaborate with units and programs including academic departments, writing centers, and libraries; design and facilitate professional development such as workshops, and provide personalized coaching to help instructors reach goals. The Assistant Professor of Practice will also collaborate with a multi-skilled team of experts to increase knowledge and evaluate appropriate uses of technology in all modalities. 10-20% of the Assistant Professor’s workload will be dedicated to scholarly and creative interests related to teaching and learning.
