Dear Writing Center Tutors and Consultants,

Please Join us on Wednesday, March 25, at 3 PM CST (4 PM EST / 1 PM PST) for our fifth Tutor Talks session of the 2025-26 year: Professionalizing Your Tutoring Experience.

As writing tutors, we know how important the work we do is. This Tutor Talks will share resources that can help you leverage the work you’ve already done, as well as highlight opportunities to deepen your tutoring experience beyond your writing center.

We’ll cover topics like how to:

  • Identify transferable skills from your tutoring experience

  • Write strong bullet points for your resume or CV

  • Present your tutoring knowledge or research at conferences

  • Submit your reflections and research to blogs and peer reviewed journals

  • Network with professionals in your field

  • Apply to join the Tutor Talks Executive Committee!

Tutor Talks is a tutor-focused forum (“for tutors, by tutors”) of virtual professional development sessions for writing center tutors. The aim of the sessions is to create an open discussion for tutors to support and learn from one another.

Writing tutors and consultants from all over (not just the SCWCA region!) are welcome. Directors/administrators, because these sessions are tutor-focused, we ask that you not attend them yourselves. However, please share with your tutors and encourage them to take advantage of these fun and informative opportunities to learn and connect! Also note that, to ensure a safe and comfortable space for all, sessions will not be recorded.

Tutors: Please RSVP through this Google Form. The Zoom room will be sent out on the day of the session. (Please check your spam folder if you do not receive the link.)

Sincerely,

Tutor Talks Executive Committee

South Central Writing Centers Association
