My name is Chloe Crull, and I am a doctoral candidate studying Writing, Rhetoric ,and Composition Studies at the University of California, Davis. I am conducting an IRB-approved research study that investigates how WPA collaborations are enacted through specific strategies, roles, and mediating tools, and how these practices are shaped—and sometimes constrained—by institutional histories, rules, and divisions of labor. This framework helps ex
plain not just whether collaborations happen, but how they unfold, and why some succeed while others falter.
I am seeking writing program administrators to participate in a 5-minute multiple-choice survey and an optional 60-minute Zoom interview. This includes—but is not limited to—First-Year Composition directors, Basic Writing directors, Writing Across the Curriculum directors, Writing Center directors, and directors of Business Writing or Technical Communication programs. I also welcome participation from anyone who actively works as and identifies as a writing program administrator, regardless of their official title.
Individuals who complete both the multiple-choice survey and the optional follow-up interview will be compensated with a $20.00 Amazon gift card for their participation, which will be sent via email within ~4 weeks after the interview, in appreciation for your time.
Thank you very much for taking the time to read this information and consider participating in the research study. Please email me at cvc...@ucdavis.edu or my advisor Tricia Serviss at pcse...@ucdavis.edu if you have any questions.
Much appreciation and many thanks,
Chloe Crull

I am especially seeking colleagues who direct or work within Basic Writing programs. Your perspectives are crucial for understanding how WPA collaborations unfold across different contexts. To participate, please complete a brief 5-minute multiple-choice survey. At the end of the survey, you will have the option to indicate your interest in an optional 60-minute Zoom interview.
