I have installed and activated the plugin. I clicked on the button on
my blog and it opens up a dialog box to download skype. If my online
visitor already has skype installed, how can they call me direct by
clicking the button?
Is there a video tutorial or documentation on how this thing works?
You can reply to me at yueg...@gmail.com.
Thanks,
Henry
The Skype button script (provided by Skype) actually checks for the
existense of Skype on the client/visitor machine. If there is no Skype
installed, the download dialog comes up. If Skype is installed,
clicking the button should open Skype and initiate a call (or chat,
depending on setup of the plugin). If you click the link *below* the
button, you will be redirected to Skype's donwnload page. You are not
talking about that, right?
If you have Skype installed and the download dialog still comes up,
there is something wrong... Is this the case? If so, please tell me
what version of Skype and what version of the plugin you use.
If you send me a link, I can have a look at your blog and see what
happens when I click the button.

Sorry, there's no video.
I see it, and tested it. Works fine for me with Firefox on WinXP, you
will probably see a 'missed call' in your Skype History...

Should be fine.

The Button you use on your sidebar is one of the 'static' buttons. It
does not display your online status, just the baloon with 'Call Me'.
As soon as someone clicks it, Skype opens and only then he/she will
see wether you are online or not. But, the image should have an alt-
text when a visitor hovers (mouse-over) it, that should show your
status. I don't see that on your blog.... Strange? No, not really: see
my answer below...

I'm not familiar with OS X, but I suppose the javascript should work
the same for Macs...

Are you sure that the plugin is mine? I have not implemented any
Widget comliance (yet)... Where did you get the plugin?
I suspect you use some sort of widgetized version of Anti Veeranna's
'Skype Button' plugin... My plugin is called 'Skype Online Status' and
was originaly based on the Skype Button plugin. But it has more
features (including the online status as alt-text on the static
images, more templates, better customization options and a Quick Guide
to help you out) ánd compliance with WP 2.1... Widget feature coming
up in the next release ;)

Get my latest version on http://4visions.nl/en/index.php?section=55.
It is suited for WP 2.1!
