to WP Skype Online Status
Hey Ravan,

I am using WP 2.6 and have been using the online status button. I have
been designing my site for a week or so, and I just turned off my
WYSIWYG editor yesterday, not really having been familiar with its
purpose. Since it has been switched off though, I now receive the
following error when opening my site or WP admin:
Fatal error: Call to a member function textbutton() on a non-object
in /home/jayho217/public_html/wp-content/plugins/skype-online-status/
buttonsnap.php on line 419

The only way to access my site again is to delete the folder from the
FTP. I have tried to DL it again and reinstall, but the problem
persists. Any advice on what could be causing this issue?

Much appreciated,
Jason

Hi Jason,

I cannot reproduce the error but is is caused by the bottonsnap library.
This is not a script of mine and it is also not supported anymore. Maybe a
PHP version issue ?

Anyway, a quick way around it (until the next release of my plugin) would
be the following:

1. Re-activate your RTE (just for a short while, to avoid the error),
re-upload and re-activate the Skype Online Status plugin.
2. Go to Settings > Skype Status page and scroll down to find the option
'Use Skype Status quicktag button in the RTE for posts' under Advanced.
Uncheck this option and hit 'Save changes' on the right or at the bottom.
3. Now you should be able to de-activate the RTE again without any errors
but obviously there will not be a Skype quicktag button in your basic
editor menu.

Meanwhile, I will look into another way (without reverting to
buttonsnap.php when RTE is disbaled) to get you your button back to be
incorporated in the next update.

Hope you will be able to still enjoy the plugin in the mean time :)
