New WPNashville site

Hey everyone, 

I've been working little bits at a time on a redesign and re-structure of the wpnashville site, and I'm looking for any feedback. 

There really isn't much to look at, there are two sites which are both blogs.

Here is the breakdown in bullets:

• Multi site
• Site 1 is the primary wpnashville running my parent theme child theme in their most streamlined fashion
• Site 2 is community installation which uses the P2 theme for community interactions. - same theme that was used to host the wcn planning site.

The goal of the update is to move wpnashville out of the Genesis framework and also give it the ability to be used by the community. 

The community portion of the site is intended to be used to help organize meetup and WordCamp in the same fashion as the WordPress Chapter program and Make community - http://make.wordpress.org/community/

Hey Randy,

I love the redesign. Simple and really solid. If you / someone wanted to put in the effort, might be cool to make that nav sticky. Definitely not sure how far you are into  the development, but both sites could use some responsive tweaks. Other than that, this is is a solid site.

The dev is pretty much done, though I didn’t check it in depth for responsive. Unfortunately the “community” portion of the site is the P2 theme which isn’t responsive at all. I’ll take a look at some of the basic responsive and then get everything up on solid repo. Then if you or anyone else is interested in making adjustment I’m totally open to commits!

My overall goal was to try and use the core functionality for everything. Trying to keep it as streamlined and simple as possible. There is so much “awesome” stuff that can be done that it could actually make it too take forever to launch so I kept it simple so it would be supper easy to launch. 

Future ideas for the site are always welcome!

I am loving it and took the liberty of posting something as my credentials still work :)

I know it is early to think about "next year" but I am wondering if we can do a form to solicit Faces of WP in advance so they can be assigned way, way ahead of time for anything resembling a "Camp." Apologies for being out of pocket lately. Back in game. Just a thought.

Hope to see all soon. How about a meetup for core peeps on Percy Priest with a pontoon boat and swimming and such? I know how to drive and dock a double-decker. And cuz I don't drink I can be designated driver. You may call me Captain Coyle.

I heartily second the faces-of-WP getting going NOW! No reason not to have every one up there eventually, and i am all for making life easier come January!
