New issue 512 by gary...@garyc40.com: Quantity on products page not working
http://code.google.com/p/wp-e-commerce/issues/detail?id=512
The quantity field for each product description does not work. A customer
can input a quantity more than 1 but it always registers as only a single
product in the shopping cart. Only at Checkout can the quantity be updated
which also updates the shopping cart widget total.
If this issue has been discussed in the forums, please link to the relevant

There several info needed for this to be replicated.
The top common questions!?
1. Which theme is used?
1a. Is this occurring on custom Themes only?
2. Which type of install, is it a conversion from a previous wpsc -> 3.8?
2a. If so, which version of wpsc was converted?
3. Which setting is used? This is needed if we are to replicated this in a
debug environment!
4. Is it a Widget shopping cart?
4a. Is it only occurring when using Widget?
5. Is the product a converted product or a new generated product(using 3.8)?
6. Is the product a variation?
6a. Is this only occurring when variations are used?
Off the bat regarding the Shop "bareallapparel"
1. The shop is using a Gold_cart plugin.
2. A stylesheet link tag is not made correctly, <link rel="stylesheet"
http://bareallapparel.com/style.css"/> which make me nervous, as the html
is not realy
3. The shopping cart widget is custom!
Note: I cant replicate this on a clean install with "Coraline" theme.

This looks like an incompatibility with older theme. The input for quantity
in older themes is named "wpsc_quantity_update[129]" instead of just
wpsc_quantity_update.
I think it would be appropriate to address this issue on our end. Probably
even consider moving this to 3.8.1, which will be released tomorrow.
Fixed in trunk: r53.

Fixed in 3.8 branch as well: r54
The reason for this is because this is a bug introduced by the upgrade, and
the bug is obvious enough that could affect existing sites.
I don't think there will be a problem, but if anything happens and other
devs don't like the fix, we can always revert it tomorrow before launching.
I am experiencing this issue after updating to 3.8.6. I am using the
Storefront Edge Theme 1.0.2. Is there a fix?
I can't reproduce this issue. Could you clarify which view mode you use for
product page? List or Default?
A detailed steps to reproduce would be helpful.
Thanks.
I am using the default view mode.

Have you been able to reproduce this issue, or do I need to provide more
information?
Hi noticed in your theme the quantity input field is OUTSIDE the add to
cart form .... may need to talk to the theme developer on that one...
