Carmel Collins swam Ballycotton – Ardmore in 11 hrs. 36 mins yesterday.
She was fed by Tadgh Harrington and Anna Maria Mullaly who also took turns as support swimmers.
I ended up doing land based stuff ( knee is getting better ) and was in Ardmore to watch Carmel arrive to an emotional welcome by her family.
Carmel is delighted with her success: https://www.facebook.com/carmel.collins.718/posts/1022071071150387?comment_id=1022385651118929&offset=0&total_comments=36
The boat was the Anna Emily, a beautiful yacht out of Cobh skippered by Jack Hickey, with Anne and Robert as crew members.
Noel Rooney provided much needed land support in Ardmore.
Imelda Lynch will submit her Observers log for ratification to the ILDSA.
Carmel prepared hard for this arduous swim and battled bravely on the day to become the first person to swim this stretch of Irish coastline.
