You’ve 2 months to get into shape, so no excuses.

Here’s a reminder to register sooner rather than later, so we get an idea of numbers.
If anyone can’t swim but is available to help out, any assistance would be greatly appreciated. We will need people to act as minders, warmer uppers, tea makers etc. Also kayakers would be appreciated. We will have some sit on tops available, if you can’t bring your own.
FYI, the water is warming up nicely, I swam yesterday in temps from 16.1 at the edge to 14.5 in deep water.

There’s only 2 weeks left, so time to stop sitting on the fence.
Fancy a challenge? Swim 5 miles, 3 miles or 1 mile. Do two swims. Do all three.
Not swimming? Why not just come along for the craic, or even better, bring a kayak and help out.
Lots of tea and goodies all day and BBQ mackerel afterwards.
Colm.

Final call.
Entries close @ 11pm Thursday night.
The water has been particularly nice recently. Last weeks few days of sunshine saw highs of 18 deg, a bit higher than normal, but looking good for about 15 deg at the weekend. It’s also looking pretty jellyfish friendly. I’m sure they’re there, but I haven’t seen any jellies in Boatstrand yet.
It looks like the wind is rising on Thursday, but we should be past the worst of it by Saturday. It’s a pity it will stir up the water, which has been very clear with great visibility underwater lately.
As before, we have the use of the safety centre for changing downstairs and for tea and coffee etc upstairs. There is also a marquee setup on the pier which should help with any rain. It may be a good idea to bring a sleeping bag and hot water bottle to help offset the worst of any shivers. A deck chair may also be a good idea. I’ve been promised some mackerel on the day, so we’ll BBQ them on the pier after the last swim. Nothing like some protein to aid recovery ;-)
Some of our kayakers have had to pull out, so we are short a few at the moment. If anyone can bring one, it would be great. Please let me know.
Looking forward to a good day out.
C.
