1. Young Professionals in Energy tour of the Deer Island Water Treatment Plant

While this is not a WoWE-organized event, it's one we were planning to put together. Instead of organizing a competing event, YPE has invited the WoWE chapter to tag along.

Boston's Deer Island employs four types of renewable energy, including wind turbines, to clean Boston water and keep the harbor clean. They also have made significant energy efficiency upgrades and participate in Demand Response. Take a tour of this amazing facility and learn about how each renewable energy system works in concert to save Deer Island almost $20M in fuel oil costs and electricity savings annually.

3. WoWE Networking Event at AWEA Offshore Windpower Conference and Exhibition

The American Wind Energy Association will be holding their annual Offshore Windpower Conference and Exhibition October 22-23 in Providence, RI. We will be organizing a networking event at that conference, details to come.
