Everyone wants to make some extra cash on the side. Why should it be
any different in the virtual world? In the World of Warcraft, Money
talks. Just as in the "real" world, money opens many doors but there
are rules to follow. An old hand in the game explained the process.
"The World of Warcraft is a free market economy. That means that the
Auction House rules and their transaction fee is really the only tax
to speak of in the game. There are a few barriers in place to make
sure that players don't abuse certain things..."
If you are interested in earning some cold cash in the game, you need
imagination, determination and a general understanding of business. In
the World of Warcraft Money is not easily given away...swindled away
at times...occasionally stolen ...but never freely handed over. So
just where do you start in the World of Warcraft money?
Here are some sound financial tips courtesy of World of Warcraft
Money.
Professions
If you are serious about making a fortune, consider getting primary
and secondary professions. Most professions allow you to sell your
goods to other characters.
Learn To Use The Auction House (AH)
Regardless of what you are dealing with, in the World of Warcraft
money, the AH is a valuable resource. Learning to use it can be
tricky, but is more than worth it when you find a hot commodity.
Watch the Trade Channel:
Occasionally channel 2 offers good deals as many people are competing
with the AH.
Know What You Are Selling
This seems to be common sense, but surprisingly enough many forget
their products and end up making no money at all.
Know Thy Marketeth
Again, obvious business logic that is often ignored. If all you've
sold for you entire life in the World of Warcraft Money market is
armor, and you have traded in nothing other than that, you will know
when someone is trying to cheat you. You will know who the major
players in niche markets are and be able to determine your profit
margin.
Fishing May Be Boring, But Worth It
If you know where to fish, then you could stand to make a lot of cash.
Remeber stonescale eels are sold for gold.
Make Alts Work For You
An ALT is an alternative character often on the same server. If you
have some extra materials that can be processed and resold, send them
off to the alt, log in an hour later and run them through the
profession of choice (will require leveling in most cases), send them
back and resell.
Go to the smaller instances
If you are a higher-level player (45-60), there are lesser instances
that will generate more money. Items from places like ShadowFang Keep
and BlackFathom Deeps aren't worth a lot, but if you are careful you
might just spot a rare item .
Not all tips can be obtained from World of Warcraft Money. Some ways
of making money are very "traditional" in a sense. Simply being
courteous and kind to people go a long way. If you are a great
salesman you will be known not only for your ability to sell but your
bedside manner too. It all translates into cash at the end of the day.
The last bit of advice from World of Warcraft Money is this, be
careful with the money you have. Think of toothpaste...easy to squeeze
out of the tube but hard to put back.
