Hi Everyone –

Here’s the recap of the meeting on 11/18 @ MOTOHIO European Motorbikes. We had eight members over and lots of tasty food ranging from rotisserie chicken, a delicious casserole made with farm-grown corn, homemade garlic mashed potatoes, a pesto pasta, to a [very] homemade cheesecake with a creamy maple glaze! (Yes, I’m just making you feel guilty for missing our meeting!) In case you weren’t able to indulge yourself on Thursday, meeting notes are attached.

Highlights:

CHAPTER LOGO APPROVED BY NATIONAL! We now have our very own chapter logo for the Buckeye State Lady Riders. Sample patches have been ordered and will be presented at the next two meetings (see dates below). We are also exploring our options in getting other gear embroidered as well.

Next meeting: Saturday, 12/4/10 – the Holiday Party @ Spaghetti Warehouse in Downtown Columbus. The festivities begin at 5PM. PLEASE PLACE YOUR RSVPs now!!! This invite goes out to everyone on our list and to all our sister WOW chapters! Invite is attached to this e-mail!

Next [Next] Meeting: Wednesday, 1/12/11 @ MOTOHIO. We’re trying a Wednesday to see if we can attract more people to come to our meetings. Although these e-mails do reach many people, we like to meet the faces behind these addresses. In town? Come on by and say hi!

Local Help Wanted: WOW Columbus is on the search for an Assistant Chapter Director and a Webmaster. Interested in learning the ins and outs of running a WOW chapter? Want to help the Buckeye State Lady Riders continue to grow in 2011 and beyond? The only requirements are that you must be (1) motivated and willing to learn and (2) a WOW member in good standing. Please e-mail Christine (in...@wow-columbus.org) if you’re interested. Oh yes, no extensive motorcycle riding experience necessary!

National WOW Help Wanted: The Board is looking to fill a 3-year Trustee position. If you have some you would like to recommend, including yourself, please send the member name and home state to nomin...@womenonwheels.org.

Additional Notes: During the meeting, Pat and Susan shared this website called “Roadside America” (http://www.roadsideamerica.com/) dedicated to discovering offbeat tourist attractions all over the United States. There’s an accompanying iPhone app that highlights nearby random attractions and landmarks. On their last ride together, they found the “Man Killed by a Falling Tree” (http://www.roadsideamerica.com/story/10847). Morbid, but funny!

That is all for now. Ride safe! J

Christine
