Netflix's Bridgerton, created by Chris Van Dusen, produced by Shonda Rhimes, and currently with Jess Brownell as showrunner, has quickly cemented itself as a pop culture landmark in the four years since its premiere. The Regency-era romance drama broke records when it first debuted on the streamer in 2020 and has only continued its historic streak with its junior season, which hit Netflix in May and June 2024. According to The Hollywood Reporter, season 3 part 1 drew 2.76 billion minutes of viewing time in the United States.
Back in 2022, Bridgerton's second season was Netflix's most-watched English-language TV series of all time. The show has received critical acclaim for both of its seasons, earning praise for its costuming, acting, dramatic and sexy storylines, and diverse on-screen representation.
Audiences are head over heels in love with the Ton universe. So much so that back in 2021, ahead of the second season's premiere, the series was renewed for a third and fourth season. Jess Brownell, who has worked on other Shondaland hits like Scandal and Inventing Anna, will continue on as the showrunner for season 4.

"The fourth season of Bridgerton turns its focus to bohemian second son Benedict (Luke Thompson). Despite his elder and younger brothers both being happily married, Benedict is loath to settle down -- until he meets a captivating Lady in Silver at his mother's masquerade ball," a teaser for the upcoming season shared by the streamer reads.
ICYMI, Bridgerton is based on a series of novels of the same name, written by historical romance author Julia Quinn. The novels detail the major romances of the eight Bridgerton siblings. The first two seasons of Bridgerton followed the events of the first two Bridgerton books: The Duke and I and The Viscount Who Loved Me. The third season jumps in chronological order, following the fourth book in the series, Romancing Mister Bridgerton.
It was this straying from the chronology of the books that had fans eagerly awaiting the announcement of which Bridgerton sibling we'll see fall in love next. While the season 4 love story had already been chosen even before Bridgerton season 3 had finished airing, the cat is now out of the bag.
I think everyone can agree with me when I say that being a Sherlock fan can sometimes be bittersweet. Yes, the show is addictive and the acting is amazing, but just as quickly as Sherlock Season 4 came into our lives, it gets taken away almost just as fast. With only three episodes debuting this season (as per usual), that leaves us with very little time to spend with our beloved detective. So it's only natural to immediately start to wonder when Sherlock Season 4 will be on Netflix so that you can enjoy this dynamic duo's antics over and over again.
I'm pleased to say that, unlike the torturously long wait fans are usually put through in-between seasons, the latest season of Sherlock tends to pop up on the streaming service relatively quickly by comparison. Instead of waiting years, we're probably only going to have to wait a few months before rewatching the fourth installment in its entirety. Back when Sherlock Season 3 debuted in January 2014, it only took until early June for it to appear on Netflix. So unless the series and streaming service have reached a different arrangement, I'd wager that a similiar pattern will present itself this year as well. However, it's important to note that no official release date has been confirmed as of yet.
Granted, even if it does make its way to Netflix by June, that's still a decent amount of time before the likes of Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman will grace our television screens while playing these now-iconic characters, but given how often fans are used to waiting on this show, it's not all that bad. Plus, if you're really looking for a way to help pass the time, you could always binge watch the first three seasons again. (Sounds like the perfect excuse to me!)
Odds are most of you have already been watching Season 4 since it debuts on New Year's Day, so you know the kind of heartache that's in store. And for those of you who have yet to experience it firsthand, well... good luck, I suppose. Seriously though, it's a phenomenal season even by Sherlock standards, which is really saying something. So whether you've already watched it or not doesn't really matter because you'll undoubtedly want to do it again and again. And luckily, we won't have to wait very long for that to happen.
The long wait is over! Everyone knows that the premiere date for Season 4 was delayed due to the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes in 2023, but the official airing dates have finally been released. The show's next season will be presented in two installments, with the first half airing on August 15, 2024, and the second half set to air on September 12, 2024. Like the previous seasons, Season 4 will contain 10 episodes.
This has been an unusually long wait for a new season of Emily's antics, likely the result of two main factors. Last year, the entertainment industry came to a standstill with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which delayed the start of production. There's also the Paris Olympic Games, which are set to begin July 2024. With the city in preparation for that, there's a good chance the production had to adapt to not having access to many of their usual filming locations.
In case you need a refresher, Emily in Paris follows 29-year-old Chicago workaholic Emily Cooper and her big move to the City of Lights. Our plucky heroine moves to Paris without knowing the language in hopes of a promised promotion in social media marketing. She juggles a hectic love life, new friends, and career adjustments, all while sporting her favorite outlandish fashion looks.
On September 29th, Variety provided an exclusive update, announcing the start filming date set for early 2024. Production officially started in January 2024, and concluded in May, since all shooting in Paris is prohibited from June until September on account of the 2024 Olympic Games.
Mission Cinema, the organization in France that schedules shoots in Paris, noted that multiple popular spots were fully booked for the year. The series was shot in a variety of different locations as a result.
The main characters are Lily Collins as Emily, Ashley Park as Mindy, Lucas Bravo as Gabriel, Camille Razat as Camille, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu as Sylvie, Samuel Arnold as Julien, and Bruno Gouery as Luc. However, her former boss, Madeline, played by Kate Walsh, will possibly not be returning since at the end of Season 3, she returned to Chicago. We're keeping our eyes peeled!
The last we'd seen Alfie was his leaving after Camille's dramatic wedding speech. Through trials and tribulations, the couples struggled to make their relationship work, which came to a close at the end of Season 3 when Alfie tells Emily to "go get her man" and exclaims he never truly felt like hers. He leaves, heartbroken, without another word. Whether or not the ex-couple remained on good terms is up in the air, but Lucien Laviscount has been confirmed as part of the Season 4 cast.
It's too soon to tell if Emily and Gabriel will FINALLY be an official couple, but if the Season 3 finale is any indication, there will likely be no rush for a relationship with Emily and Gabriel as it looks like the two will be figuring out complications in their relationship.
Following the steamy and long-awaited third season of Bridgerton, fans are going to have to wait a long time for Season 4. Season 3 of the Regency-era Netflix drama, which centers on the love story between Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, came over two years after Season 2. The season was also split into two parts, consisting of just four episodes each. While fans had to wait just over a year for Season 2, the first two seasons weren't split, so it didn't seem so bad. Unfortunately, the two-year wait will continue for the time being.
Showrunner Jess Brownell confirmed Bridgerton's Season 4 timeline to The Hollywood Reporter, saying, "We are working to try and put the seasons out more quickly, but they do take eight months to film, and then they have to be edited, and then they have to be dubbed into every language. And the writing takes a very long time as well, so we're kind of on a two-year pace, we're trying to speed up, but somewhere in that range."
The news about the wait for Season 4 is definitely not the greatest news, especially since fans were not happy they had to wait a whole month to get four more episodes for Season 3. It's unusual for a streaming series to take so long, but having to wait until at least 2026 for another season of Bridgerton is not ideal. Whether that could change is unknown, but it does sound like there is a plan in place that is currently the fastest they can pump out the episodes, meaning two years it is.
As for details surrounding the fourth season, it still hasn't been announced which Bridgerton sibling it will center on. Since Season 3 strayed from the Julia Quinn books and told Colin's story rather than Benedict's, it's possible that Season 4 will go back to Benedict. However, the third season did heavily set up Francesca's story as well, which is the sixth book in the series. Or quite possibly Eloise, whose story is told in the fifth book. It could go in any direction, and there is a lot of time to decide.
The two-year wait will be brutal once again, especially since Season 4 will likely only have eight episodes like the first three seasons. It is definitely weird to think that it will be almost 2030 by the time Bridgerton comes back, but hopefully, the wait will be worth it.
