The Clean Vehicle Program allows solo drivers in vehicles that meet clean fuel and emission standards to use the Express Lanes without paying a toll. The Utah Department of Transportation may issue Clean Vehicle Passes and Permits to a limited number vehicle that meet these standards.
Solo drivers of electric, plug-in hybrid electric, and alternative-fuel vehicles are permitted access to the UDOT Express Lanes with a Clean Vehicle Pass and Permit, issued by UDOT, through September 29, 2025. See the FAQs for a list of qualifying vehicles.

The first fuel for Rooppur 1's initial load has been formally accepted by the Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission (BAEC) after an inspection at the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrates Plant (NCCP) in Russia. Meanwhile, installation of the unit's eight heat exchangers has been completed at the plant site in Bangladesh.
The final protocol and licences that will allow BAEC to take delivery of the fuel for the 1200 MWe VVER pressurised water reactor - one of two being built at the site 160 kilometres from Dhaka - were signed earlier this year. Delivery of the fuel is expected to take place in September. Similar fuel is already operating in VVER-1200 reactors at the Leningrad, Novovoronezh and Belarus (Ostrovets) nuclear power plants.
TVEL Quality Director Alexander Bukhvalov said the company has produced an "advanced and efficient" nuclear fuel for Rooppur, taking customer preferences into account throughout the process from pre-production to fuel manufacturing and supply to the power plant. "I am positive that our fuel will once again prove the highest quality and reliability level of Russian nuclear technologies," he said.
"Implementation of Rooppur NPP construction project is going just as planned," Alexey Deriy, ASE Vice President and director of the Rooppur construction project, said. "Rosatom Engineering Division is fulfilling its obligations in the full scope and, by the time of nuclear fuel arrival, the construction site of unit 1 will be ready to accept it and ensure storage, meeting all the safety requirements prior to the stage of loading into the reactor."
Separately, Rosatom announced that eight heat exchangers had been installed at Rooppur. The eight metal structures - each weighing over 32 tonnes - are part of the plant's passive heat removal system (PHRS).

On March 9, 2023, Barrasso spoke at a full committee hearing to examine the nuclear fuel cycle discussing Nuclear Fuel Security Act and how it will help prevent American reliance on Russian imports for uranium.
On April 7, 2022, Barrasso introduced the Fueling Our Nuclear Future Act to accelerate the availability of domestically produced HALEU for advanced reactors. It directs DOE to partner with industry to establish a domestic HALEU enrichment capability. It also directs DOE to make HALEU available from their inventories to ensure advanced reactors have the fuel they need until U.S. commercial enrichment is available.
How should one register for the service?
Customers could register for this service via designated Sampath bank Branches Island wide. Inbound tourists should produce necessary KYC information and obtain the service via purchasing an NFC based touch Tourist Fuel Pass.
a) Card can be topped up based on the required usage in multiple instance.
b) Minimum top up payment should not be less than $50 dollars and maximum top up is limited to 300 dollars per transaction.
c) Within the above limits customer could top up multiple times within a day.
d) Top up value will be updated in equivalent amount of LKR as per the prevailing exchange rate after deducting the applicable service charges.
e) Customer will receive a manual invoice for the exchange conversion and mentioning the top up value.
f) This card will only be accepted at any of the Touch enabled fuel service stations Island wide.

Is this service limited to a specific location?
Fuel issuance for the Tourist fuel pass will be only available via TOUCH enable fuel stations.

Can I pump fuel more than the assigned quota?
Fuel issuance will be restricted only to the available balance in the card. The station will not allow pumping fuel more than the useable balance.

"In a time marked by rising fuel costs, it is essential for our taxicab drivers to be able to get residents and visitors where they need to go without worrying about whether or not they can afford to put gas in their tanks," said Mayor Lightfoot. The Chicago Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection (BACP) oversees licensing and operations of the public vehicle industry. BACP works closely with the taxicab to create fair and equitable regulations. Recent discussions with taxi companies, drivers, and independent owner-operators led to the need and decision of a fuel surcharge for taxicab fares. Two steps must take place before taxicab drivers may start to charge passengers a fuel surcharge fee: 1) when the AAA average fuel price for the past month is or exceeds $5.00 per gallon and 2) BACP disseminates a City of Chicago public vehicles industry notice.
The fuel surcharge will offset the costs of gasoline for taxicabs and also incentivize additional taxicabs to go into service. In 2009 and 2010, fuel surcharges were implemented when fuel prices increased. BACP initiated fuel surcharges of either $0.50 or $1.00 per taxicab trip. The Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) is among the largest renewable energy mandates in the world. The policy is enforced using tradeable credits that implicitly subsidize biofuels and tax fossil fuels. The RFS relies on these taxes and subsidies to be passed through to consumers to stimulate demand for biofuels and decrease demand for gasoline and diesel. Using station-level prices for E85 (a high-ethanol blend fuel) from over 450 retail fuel stations, we show that pass-through of the ethanol subsidy is, on average, complete. However, we find that full pass-through takes four to six weeks and that local market structure of gasoline stations influences both the speed and overall level of pass-through.
Several European countries have implemented temporarily fuel tax reductions in 2022 to relieve the financial burden on their citizens. This paper provides estimates of the pass-through rates as well as the effect on retail margins for France, Germany and Italy. Using a unique data set containing daily consumer prices for gasoline and diesel, we employ a staggered Difference-in-Differences (DiD) design. Our results show a heterogeneous pass-through of the fuel tax reductions depending on the country and on the type of fuel. Nevertheless, we find a full- or even over-shifting of the tax cuts in all three countries. These findings also have important implications for the effective design of unconventional fiscal policy as well as for competition policy in the fuel market.
