Hey guys!

I have some news to you. Apparently i talked with our guide. As you all remember we supposed to not to pay for the guide but unfortunatelly it doesnt seems a good idea. He is a good guy and wont charge a lot of money. We agreed to pay 550 euro in total for guiding us(this was the best offer actually every guide want to charge lots of money)  which is more than my batch actually. So we have to pay it together meaning that 30-35 euro per person. Sorry for this extra cost but there is nothing to do for it.

Another important thing is he said we need also 100 m rope for climbing. Can you manage to bring it?

Thats all by now
Stay tuned guys
Greetings from Germany
Taylan

Hey Taylan,

Great to know that we finally contacted the official guide! (does he speak english?).
Some important issues.
  1. I think there is no problem with the price... 35€ is a good deal considering the amount of people we are...
  2. Is he dealing with the mules as well?
  3. We have 100m of rope, that's not a problem.. but this poses me extra questions... why do we want it?? will we have to climb "ensamble" the last part? I guess then we will need harnesses?? (I've checked some summer expeditions that didn't use it at all..)
  4. What is the guide's climbing plan? how many days for the first attempt?
  5. We collected tents for 14 people, Do the climbers from Ankara and the guide have their own?
  6. We are planning food as well... should we count those 3 extra people?

I can directly contact the guide if you want (and if he speaks/reads english) but we should figure these questions out...

3 weeks to go!!

Big hug and enjoy the summer school!

Oriol,

Hi,

just a concern for maybe especially the ladies. Do they need to regard some "rules" concerning clothes? I learned that this is quite a conservative area.

Best,

Jonathan

Hello, concerning to ladies they dont really cover themself but it will be Ramadan time, and eating in the outside in front of people can be stressful.
And another important thing guys actually our guide does not speak english so i have connection with him now and he is managing every important cases now.
Minibus has already been hired. (about 80-90 euro for going and coming back to Dogubeyazit from starting and ending point) horses seems quite expensive I havent say anything before asking you it seems 80 euro for horses and one horse can only carry two peoples stuff... so 40 euro per person I think its expensive and I need your comments on it! maybe we can hire some horses anyway...

I have no internet connection until saturday. So I will recieve your mails in two days..

Cheers and stay tuned Ararat Worms!!!
