Hey Guys I just came back to Gent and tried to answer your very important questions please find them below..

So far every task seems very well organised and a good news from Ankara, there will be a Sport Doctor with us from the Ankara Team! I think It will make us relax a bit about our healt issues task.
By the way tomorrow night I am going to İstanbul and still waiting for your arrival times to İstanbul! So far I only know jonathan's info and Oriol also sent an e mail. I should organise my time in istanbul for that, so dont forget it !

Here is my answers for further questions;

1.What did the guide say on harnesses and the need of rope?
Guide is care about it because as I wrote you from google talks, it seems after 4200 we need to streach in a line with this rope, but I guess you should know something like that

2.How many kg per mule?? We need animals to carry 100kg up to the base camp!
        ,
Our guide notified that horses are available to carry only three persons stuff. I m not sure but ı guess we can chaffer with them!

3.We are counting you and your two friends for food.. is it ok?? do you eat porc??? (the most difficult part is to get protein. (we are taking the technical food and   protein (ham and dry sausages) from here..)

Me and my friends are keening to eat together. We are not selective at all! We can pay later to you about this proteins stuff

        4.  What about Baykal and your other friend?? do they need material?? they must be involved if we have to supply them anything!!

They have basic equipments like me. (crampons are alsoincluded) thank you but so far they could manage it with themself. maybe the tent can be needed for three  of us.

        5. We need to check in an extra bag to carry gear to Istambul.., is Ghent  covering this??

Actually I dont think that they can pay it but as long as we have the invoice I can try and if I get paid about it I can return this money to group

         6. Actually, what can Ghent cover at the end??

Gent seems to cover basically my costs and main common things such as logistic of everybody. Example; My flight tickets, Minibus dogubeyait to mountain, maybe only 2 horses I can pay(six persons stuff).
I supposed in the beginning I could find a local friend guide without talking a lot about money and could be paid by university but so far we only could find this one and this guide cost is more that my all batch!! (Sorry for this inconvenience)

7.We haven't counted the guide neither the hickers from ankara for food and tents, is this ok? Are they slef-supported??

This is also a good idea, if we make it as homogenize as possible, it will be better for our social athmosphere! I guess they are very friendly,

8.Can you confirm there is a suppermarket un Dubayaze opened on saturday night?

I have already confirmed several times that there are a big supermarket even at that time open till 22.00!!!

9.The transport from Van to Doubayazed is still undefined... we said public transport, do we have timetables and so??

Our guide working on bringing 2 minibus to the exit of Airport for us. I have already informed him for our departure time and we will only pay for normal prize of this wayfrom van to dogubeyazit

10.How will Ramadan effect our girls in practice???

Ramadan could have a slight effect not only on our girls but also our boys indeed. But these are just could be just some funny memories as far as we are not touching their holy stuffs! Haha we are not alone in there guys so, no worries about Ramadan

Hope you could read till finish of this long e mail :)

Enjoy your last days before Ararat and I will be waiting for all of you in İstanbul

Cheers

Taylan

Hey Dude!
How is the summer school going?? When are you going back to turkey??

We are finishing the preparation for Ararat but I have some very important questions.. can we talk soon??
  1. What did the guide say on harnesses and the need of rope?
  2. How many kg per mule?? We need animals to carry 100kg up to the base camp!
  3. We are counting you and your two friends for food.. is it ok?? do you eat porc??? (the most difficult part is to get protein. (we are taking the technical food and protein (ham and dry sausages) from here..)
  4. What about Baykal and your other friend?? do they need material?? they must be involved if we have to supply them anything!!
  5. We need to check in an extra bag to carry gear to Istambul.., is Ghent  covering this??
  6. Actually, what can Ghent cover at the end??
  7. We haven't counted the guide neither the hickers from ankara for food and tents, is this ok? Are they slef-supported??
  8. Can you confirm there is a suppermarket un Dubayaze opened on saturday night?
  9. The transport from Van to Doubayazed is still undefined... we said public transport, do we have timetables and so??
  10. How will Ramadan effect our girls in practice???

Those are the main questions to be solved.. the rest is undercontrol.. (we are going ahead with the bandana's)

Just tell me whenever we can talk a bit on this.

Hi all!! and thanks Taylan for your work!! :)

I have had to reschedule my arrival to Istambul, and now I will be flying on Saturday from Milan. My flight arrives to Istambul (Sabiha Gokçen) at 19:45, about one hour later than the main people from Barcelona's flight (I think!). I suppose you can wait for me, otherwise I'll will try to find you later or if it's too late I can always sleep in the airport!!

So that's all so far from my part! (sorry for the inconvenience!!)

See you... next Saturday! :)

Ferran

Hey Ferran;

Of course we are gonna leave you in the airport alone! :) No no of course not! Me or Baykal will wait for you and the others will go to rest in my residance! Luckly my parents are leaving on Friday to our village for holidays and we have a whole flat! And some other good news guys, Actually today I was talking with  lots of people to discuss the technical details.Apparently I found a minibus which will gonna pick us at 09.00 am in sunday morning from my house to the airport, I though that is easier and it will cost us cheaper than other solutions (200 TL)

I also talked with our super guide and he is really really kind and nice guy! We talked about horses and now I understood why the prizes of them are that expensive! It is actually because if you hire a horse in there, the horses are coming with you untill you finish climbing whic means from 2200 to 3200 then 3200 to 4200 and than wait for you to get back and then again from there to the down!!! That is something crazy and very helpful guys. I will hire two of them for 6 people! The prize is 220 tl for each.

A bad maybe not bad news from Ankara mounteneers!
I called them today and I learnt that they had also some other climbing plans before ararat and our time schedule is not matching at all! they will come two theys after we start climbing. So I just canceled this two guys.

So now all the mountain is ours dudes!!!

Our guide was so excited to show us the sun rise in the top of the mountain! He said it is worth to wake up early for that!!!

Thats all folks!
Stay tuned and motivated

Un abrazo desde Estambul

Thanks a lot Taylan!

To "simplify" everything I'll arrive at Ataturk airport around 10:30 in the morning..., but don't worry, if you tell me how to go wherever you say to me, I'll have all day to get there.

6 days left!!!
