Greenshot is a light-weight screenshot software tool for Windows with the following key features:
- Quickly create screenshots of a selected region, window or fullscreen; you can even capture complete (scrolling) web pages from Internet Explorer.
- Easily annotate, highlight or obfuscate parts of the screenshot.
- Export the screenshot in various ways: save to file, send to printer, copy to clipboard, attach to e-mail, send Office programs or upload to photo sites like Flickr or Picasa, and others.
My problem comes when I use more than one screen or a programm like Teamviewer. The problem is, my programm captures the right area (good coordinates on the screen whenever which screen) but it captures all what's behind the window but not the window.

Snagit is a great tool (so I gave the above answer a +1), especially for collecting a series of screenshots which you can then go back and edit (you don't have to edit each one and save it, they are just stored by the Snagit editor until you are ready, you can set the default so it does not switch to the editor every time you take a screenshot so you don't interrupt your flow.

Most of the time we need to take screenshots of the whole screen or some part of the window on the screen. While on Android or iOS, you can do this even with the click of a button, here on Linux we have special tools that ease taking screenshots, providing flexibility whether of the whole screen or some part of the screen.
Some of these tools are not only meant to take screenshots but also to modify the picture, adjusting the borders, depth, color, and a lot more while capturing the screen of a particular application or a whole window.
Shutter is one of the powerful screenshot tools that not only allows you to take a screenshot of any part of the screen but also lets you edit the captured image, add text, hide private content by pixelating, upload the image to a hosting site, and much more.

I used Shutter for years but it is bitrotting and gets harder to install with each new release of Ubuntu.
There is also an application called screencloud from here when you click on the application it sits in the panel and is available whenever you wish to use a screenshot tool, also it has another feature you can annotate from the window that pops up after the shot is taken.
You might consider keeping PrtScr for the default screenshot tool and use other shortcuts for flameshot, at least two I mean, because you can also capture screen with delay: for a 5-second delay, use flameshot gui -d 5000.
GNOME Screenshot is no longer default since GNOME 40 (meaning Ubuntu 22.04 and higher). Install it either from Ubuntu Software or by running sudo apt install gnome-screenshot command in terminal.
First of first, if you just want to take a screenshot. use the default screenshot tool by pressing PrintScreen, Alt + PrintScreen, or Shift + PrintScreen on keyboard to take screenshot of whole screen, focused app window, or selected area.

Just press Alt + S or the Photo Camera button to take a screenshot. In addition, ScreenRec also has video capture capabilities which essentially makes it a screencast tool and a streaming video recorder, among other things.
