When I download the Kaseya agent from my VSA site, I get a file with the agent application, and the items needed for installation (plist, cmd, exe). Now, I imagine that the agent installation application is just some script or wineskin to run the exe for install.
Hey @clairevl, where you ever able to figure this out? We are on the same boat of trying to deploy Kaseya through Jamf Pro, I have a KcsSetup App that in theory I should be able to install via terminal command, however, when I try to run the install script located inside the App file, I get the following error message:
I figured out a way to deploy Kaseya via Jamf Pro using a Script within a Policy, so just sharing with anyone who might also run into this in the future, hopefully it helps you. Please note, you will need to host the installer in a .ZIP file somewhere that's accessible for your Macs, maybe an NGINX or Apache server hosted somewhere (internally or DigitalOcean for example).
Install Clients lets you remotely install the Client on any PC detected by LAN Watch. Remote install is only available for Window NT, 2000, and XP based computers. A list of machines with scan results are displayed when you first enter this function. Clicking on any machine ID displays a table listing all machines with a host name.
I searched here and couldn't find anything helpful, so I'm hoping someone may be able to point me in the right direction. I have a client who has JAMF already deployed into their environment, and they're looking to also install Kaseya, however, JAMF requires a proper PKG file and Kaseya currently only provides ZIP files for Mac on VSA 9. I know VSA 10 is supposed to have PKG support, but that's not an option at this point. In the meantime, I need some solution to be able to convert the Kaseya zip file to a pkg.
I've prayed to the Google gods and not come up with much that's specific to this use case. I did find a script that outlines the process of creating a pkg containing a script which will download and run the Kaseya installer, but I don't have a good way to test it and I'd like a verifiable solution before presenting it to the client. Any guidance or advice would be greatly appreciated!
Version R8 introduces several new requirements and prerequisites which you can get ready for now! Please click here to review the R8 Install/Upgrade Checklist for release notes, important prerequisites and installation instructions.
Run KInstall - it will automatically locate, download and install the R8 release. You can run Kinstall from the machine Kaseya is installed in by going to Start->Programs->Kaseya; under that program group you will see KInstall as one of the programs you can run.
Remote monitoring and management or RMM is the process with which managed service providers (MSPs) and internal IT teams remotely and proactively supervise and control IT systems including computers, networks, endpoints and more. It involves processes like installing software and managing activities on the endpoints, servers, workstations, software, systems and networks of a client, without being physically present on their premises. Given the steady increase in the prevalence of highly distributed IT environments, leading internal IT teams are now leveraging the power of RMM.
The RMM agents can connect without VPN and firewalls, hence when you install an RMM agent onto a device, the RMM platform can recognize it from anywhere, allowing technicians to control devices remotely.
Cisco Umbrella has Install and Uninstall scripts, and agent procedures for MSPs to deploy the Cisco Umbrella Roaming client using Kaseya VSA. These scripts allow MSPs to import, set up system variables and install the Umbrella roaming client. However, Cisco does not provide comprehensive support for Kaseya. For more information about Kaseya, see Kaseya documentation.
The Beta version of this plugin is not available in the Kaseya's Automation Exchange marketplace. You will need to download the License file, then install it to your VSA application by following the directions below.
8. Upon completion of the 'Sophos' Plugin installation, you will be redirected to an 'Allow' screen asking the administrator to authorize the application within the Kaseya VSA instance. After which, you can start to browse the application from the "Overview" tab.
Once configured, the application will install the Sophos Endpoint Agent if the Kaseya Asset matches with the configured Machine Group/Organization for auto-deployment, and if the Sophos Endpoint Agent is not already installed.
2. Login to Kaseya and navigate to 'Settings' --> 'Deployment' within the Sophos Security plugin. Here you will see installation instructions to start the deployment setup. Click 'Next' to begin the wizard.
Manual deployment:
Once the above deployment steps are completed, a Partner can deploy the Sophos solution manually via the 'Assets' tab from within the Sophos Security plugin, which lists the Kaseya Assets and status of Sophos Endpoint agent (installed/not installed). The application compares the hostname of Kaseya Assets and Sophos Endpoints to check if Sophos Endpoint agent is already installed.
Thanks for the comment but this is not the issue. BD is not installed on the computer. I am attempting to deploy via Kaseya integration. The error is coming from eps.rmm.exe while trying to validate the file. I have a suspicion that the file is never making it to the computer and is being blocked.
One of the advantages of an RMM is the ability to quickly deploy any application on priority on multiple machines. Reading on, you will be showing how to perform this in Kaseya. To do this, you will need to create an automatic script which will silently deploy and install any application with option to select a post installation reboot. Follow the steps below:
Before you install the plug-in, we recommend you run a checksum to verify the file. The README.txt file in the KaseyaInt folder contains the checksum information you can use to check the file before you upload it to the Kaseya VSA UI.
This procedure describes the process for migrating remote networks from Kaseya to N-able N-central, using the KaseyaMigrationandRemoval.exe tool. This is deployed through Kaseya, and when executed on a Windows device will stop the Kaseya Security Service, download and install a N-able N-central Windows agent.
I have the procedure created to write the entire installation folder to the workstation and it does succeed in writing, but I can't get it to execute the file. I also have the MSP file in the updates file. The only app I have been able to get it to work, and extremely fast is on PDQ deploy. I just need to be able to put the procedure on Kaseya
Office is one of the most common software packages you will find in the business world. When provisioning a new machine, Office is often one of the first tools that is installed. So when a partner came to us asking about how to make the process of installing and keeping Office up to date we were happy to oblige.
However, we quickly realized we could take this script one step further. So last week we announced our Office 365 Install and Audit script library. It is a series of scripts that allows you to audit your installed versions of office on endpoints and also install / update the Office suite on new devices.
The audit agent procedure included in our folder of scripts will scan your selected machines and then report back on which version of office is installed and it will be saved in Kaseya for later access both as a custom variable ($Office$) which you can report on, and also a column you could add to the table in the Agent tab in Kaseya.
Microsoft has created a tool for generating custom install XML files for the Office installer to read. This instructs it to download (or not download) specific parts of the Office suite. It also gives you control of how settings are handled when moving to new versions of office (do you want to remove user settings? Or would you prefer to roll them forward into the new version?
Within 24-48 hours, you will receive an email from nor...@kaseya.com with the subject: Welcome to KaseyaOne. Please ensure that it did not get caught in your spam filter, your junk folder, or that it didn't automatically get moved to a folder by a rule. If you still have not received the email 48 hours after registering, please contact Support and they will resend you the KaseyaOne welcome email.
The Datto Workplace/VSA10 Integration offers the benefit of seamless, silent deployment and/or removal of Workplace v10 using Kaseya VSA10. The Workplace team key allows you to install or uninstall Workplace Desktop without end user interaction.
Unfortunately I am unable to try this because vim.psc1 does not exist on my machine. I installed PowerCLI 6.5. I tried a repair install but it did not help. Do I have a corrupt install? How can I get vim.psc1?
Users can install the Outlook extension on multiple devices Your Autotask instance may be configured to use one of the following terms instead: Asset, Configuration Item, Installed Asset, Installed Product.. To enhance security, we have added a tab to the user Settings page that lists all devices that are configured to use the Microsoft Outlook Extension. On this tab, you can close an open session and remove access for a listed device.
I recently performed a complete computer upgrade at work and I'm having some weird slowness issues with my workstations. All the computers are current i5's with 4GB of RAM..plenty of power etc. The server is a Dell PowerEdge with server 2008 R2. When I built everything up I had roaming profiles on and redirection; which I have since turned off. There isn't that much software installed on the workstations (office 2007, Microsoft online services sign in, radmin server, kaseya monitoring agent that has AVG network edition installed) The workstations are all Windows 7 Pro 64-bit.
