I'm just going to jump right into posting a few pictures from today. It is 1:15 am as I am starting this blog - for whatever reason, restaurants do not even open until 9:00 for supper around here. At 11:45 we being served desert. Very crazy!

After meetings this morning, we had the opportunity to go site seeing, spend the afternoon in the spa, go to the beach... whatever we wanted to do! I opted to go on an architecture tour via bus. It was an open top bus and there were many places throughout the city that I could get off and explore the sites. A new bus leaves each stop every 10 minutes, so it wasn't like you get stranded anywhere for too long. Today was the only day I'll get to do actual site seeing other than going to and from a restaurant, so I will post a few for tonight and add more tomorrow.

The pictures below are of the outside of Sagrada Familia - a cathedral designed by Antoni Gaudi. He died in 1926 before he was able to finished his vision, but he left his plans and it has been a work in progress ever since. I heard it explained like this: the cathedral is symbolic of our relationship with our creator, we will never be finished in our walk with Him, but rather always working on it. You'll notice the scaffolding around the outside where it is still being built.

I will add photos of the inside tomorrow.

The next stop on the bus was to Park Guell. It is as it says, a park, but also designed by Gaudi so it too has the standard Gaudi gothic look to a degree. It was highly recommended by all who had previously been to Barcelona. It was beautiful - I could have spent all day exploring here, but only had 45 minutes! I'll just include this one photo for tonight, but include more over the rest of the week when I only have work to tell you about and don't want to bore you to tears!

I feel very blessed to have gotten the opportunity to see these "World Sites" and I can hardly wait to share more of them with you!

Love to all!
Buenos Noches

Donna
