Wow, does this blog even still work? It's a good thing it is electronic or I would have to dust it off and wipe the cob webbs away. We seriously haven't been doing nothing worth blogging about (you may need to reread that), I just haven't taken the time to actually sit down an download photos or write about anything. When I went to get the pictures off the camera that are included here, I had to wade through hundreds of pictures from the early parts of summer... I'll get around to sharing them someday. But for today, this subject is well worth it's own story and in a timely manner.

Twelve and a half years ago, Roy and I were blessed with a son. For the first few months I viewed him as my child or our child. Until one day at church, the bible class teacher mentioned that our children are God's children. God only gave them to us to raise for him. I knew he was a blessing from God, but hearing it put in those words made me realize what a BIG responsibility we had before us. Messing up my own children is one thing, but messing up God's children... I shutter at the thought.

What I didn't realize that day, was that we would have so much help along the way. Between family, friends, bible class teachers, school teachers, and countless other individuals who have made an impact on Austin at one time or another, he made the decision to be born again tonight.

He has been studying with us for quite some time and knew what he needed to do. Our church doesn't have a traditional worship service on Wednesday night (only bible class) so we met at the building 30 minutes before church started and had called ahead to several people that we wanted to be there for Austin. His youth group was there, all of the dorm RA's were there, Aunt Hazel, Brooke, and Caleb came over, and several members of our church family.

We thought we were proud parents on the day he was born, but this new kind of birth creates an undescribable kind of pride. We couldn't have done it without all of you and certainly without God. Thank you for your support over the years and thank you to our parents for teaching us God's word so we would have the opportunity to experience this day with our own children.

Love you all!
Donna

This is not to say we are done by any means. While Satan lost this battle, we know he will come back kicked harder than ever. To that we say, bring it on! Our God is stronger than you!
