This is probably the longest blog I’ve written in a while – but please stay with me and read to the end…
In a world where the unhealthy options call our name all day starting with the 700 calorie latte stop in the mornings to a fast food lunch, a little pick-me-up with sugary snacks in the afternoon, and finally ending our day with what probably varies from a sensible meal to another fast food meal because we are racing off to the next sporting event, recital, etc.
On top of the challenge as described above, I have an even more difficult challenge to get good, wholesome nutrition into my family because they DON’T WANT IT! One of my children in particular snubs his nose at anything that doesn’t resemble a hot dog or some other variation of fried, highly processed foods. He certainly won’t touch a vegetable under any circumstances.
As a result, I knew I could either sulk at the thought of this being my fault for not introducing them to more nutritious food at an earlier age or I could do what many parents do who want what is best for our families health and give them daily vitamins supplements. That is until last summer when I discovered that almost all children’s vitamins have Aspartame in them. In disbelief, I rushed to our bottle of chewables and sure enough… “Contains Aspartame.” Upon going through every bottle on every shelf of every store I could find… they all contained Aspartame or they listed another scientific term for Aspartame (there are several – beware – just Google Aspartame for children to find horror story after horror story about what it does to their little developing bodies). I found myself angry that I couldn’t provide a proper amount of nutrition for my family.
I finally had a breakthrough in December of last year when some colleagues were discussing the H1N1 virus, Strep Throat, and everything else that was ravaging through their children’s schools. I inquired if their children had gotten it and they said, “No – they take Juice Plus.” When every other child in their classrooms had missed multiple days of school due to illness, my colleagues kiddos had missed zero. So, I began my research into it and was immediately impressed. Juice Plus is basically 17 different fruits, veggies, and grains in capsule form (or chewies for kids). It is not a vitamin, but is whole food – so it can never become toxic like vitamins do if you take the wrong dosage.
Roy, the boys, myself, and my mom have been on it since December. In addition to our immune systems being stronger, we have more energy and feel better all the way around. It’s replaced the many bottles of multi-vitamins and other supplements cluttering our cabinets and it’s the best decision we’ve made.
In addition to taking Juice Plus, I’ve also become a distributor of it – initially it was so I could get ours free, but overtime I’ve started to think of it as a necessity that everyone should know about. However, I realized a few days ago that I have this blessing that I’ve been keeping under wraps from many of the people I care about most. Naturally, I called my mom the first day I heard of it because I am always concerned about her immune system since she has Lupus and seems to catch anything and everything. But, I have told very few others about it – not because I didn’t think it was important, but because I didn’t want to be a sales person. So today, I am a “share” person.
For the first time in the 15 years of having my own family, I feel confident about their nutritional intake. Yes, I still roll my eyes and shake my head when Roy orders a plate of Chili, Cheese Fries and when Bryce eats pizza every night for dinner in the Cafeteria – but I don’t have to worry about it anymore because I know they are getting some nutrition through Juice Plus. This new found level of comfort doesn’t mean I am going to quit encouraging them to eat better, because I know their lives would benefit even more if they were eating better and taking JP+.
I’m sure many of you reading this don’t have the extreme that I mention here in terms of healthy eating (or the lack thereof), and it really doesn’t matter if you eat REALLY healthy – I still want you know about Juice Plus. I want you to know what it can do for your health and your life.
To see and hear exactly why I love it so much, please watch this 14 minute video and this link:

For those of you with children, Juice Plus is currently conducting a Children’s Research Program that allows your children’s Juice Plus to come free for participating (kids have to be 5 years old +).
I hope you will sincerely consider the benefits Juice Plus can have for you and your family.
Please let me know if I can answer any questions for you.
Since it is already extremely long, I’ll also add… Roy is in Alabama right now with the LCU Softball Team at the National Tournament. They have played two games and won them both. They play again tomorrow at 3:30 (I think). Then Monday begins bracket play. You can listen or watch the games from
www.lcuchaps.com.
Hugs and Kisses to all!
