Hello lovely summer and semester volunteers!
I hope you had a fun and restful weekend! After a busy time in Tsumeb last weekend, it was nice for me to take it easy in Windhoek this time. I got in some quality reading hours and even got to spend time with some of Moses' family and Tangeni of Backpacker Unite. :)
With three weeks left at your sites (summer volunteers), I'm curious how you've been able to put into action your goals we set at mid-service. Were you able to get started on those last week, as hoped? Have there been set-backs? Successes? Please do share.
As you may or may not realize, at the end of your service I will write a letter of recommendation for you--to be kept on file at WorldTeach headquarters for your use at any time. At your end-of-service conference I'll ask you to jot down some points (activities and accomplishments) which you'd like me to be sure to include. Please start thinking about this now! :) And remember, in WorldTeach Namibia "success" is not measured solely by test scores. Think about the projects you've taken on, roles you've fullfilled and the relationships you've built.
Thanks to those of you who have completed the online survey about preparing prinicpals and site supervisors. If you've not already done so, please visit http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/J969YNT. It only take a couple of minutes to complete--promise! :)
FYI, this week I'm mailing program evaluation forms to all of the summer program principals. We ask all principals to give feedback about the program and to comment on your performance as a volunteer. (Your principal may not mention it to you, but just in case.)
Please remember to check in this week. I know you are all working very hard and are really busy, but I really do need and want to hear from you at least once a week! :)
Finally, please let me know how I can help and support you in your remaining weeks!
