Hi,
While we get to know each other it is also important
to lay out what we should start doing I think.
The most important thing in order to reach our target
is that we get the message out AND that events get
registered in our database / Calendar:
http://www.worldspaceweek.org/calendar_2009.php
Dennis Stone, the President of the WSW Association,
send out the following message which very concisely
brings across this message:
Celebrate the 10th anniversary of World Space Week this October 4-10!
Please do something space-related ... whether big or small ... to
celebrate space and the world's largest annual space event. You can
hold an event, encourage teachers to focus on space in their
classroom, encourage others to spread the word, or just show your
support for space that week. It's very important that everyone enter
their Oct. 4-10 events in the calendar before World Space Week at
www.worldspaceweek.org/calendar<
http://www.worldspaceweek.org/calendar>.
After World Space Week, please enter attendance, media coverage, and a
brief report. Whether you get together with friends to watch a space
movie, or organize something bigger, your participation will be very
important in promoting space! Thank you.
I will ask NASA, CSA and also ESA to forward this
message to their teacher contacts.
What other organisations should we ask to send this
out for us? We need to collect contact details of who
to ask this to for each organisation we identify.
At the same time, think how you can yourself relay this
message to as many teachers you directly know or a
little indirectly know, via a friend or family for example.
A good idea a friend of my suggested: we should perhaps
produce a cool video for our website and YouTube. Any
one have such skills or have friends with such skills?
Now, these are just a few ideas. Please come forward
with your ideas and suggestions.
Take care and speak to you soon,
Jim
